Connect, Learn, Grow

GP Grow

Greater Portland is committed to helping people follow Jesus together. GP Grow is an educational opportunity intended to help you follow Jesus and to equip you to help others follow him. We hope to offer two or three terms of GP Grow over the course of a year. Each term will be six to nine weeks and offer several class options, each of which will benefit your life and ministry with Jesus.

Check back for information on the next series of classes.

Sunday Adult Classes

Adult classes meet on Sunday mornings at 9:15am. Their purpose is to exalt Jesus and to keep Him at the center of our lives. Our desire is to equip and encourage people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. It is also an opportunity for people to connect in a smaller setting beyond the large church gathering.

We have ongoing classes that meet throughout the year as well as four to six-week elective classes to help people know Him better, understand and apply the Word to everyday living and to learn life skills for living in the family of Jesus as well as in our homes, neighborhoods, workplaces and community.

No registration is necessary for our Sunday classes unless otherwise noted. You are welcome to simply show up any Sunday and give them a try. We certainly hope you do!

Culture Shock: A Biblical Response to Today's Most Divisive Issues

Hosted by the Connection Point Class
Facilitated by Don Westerberg
Deschutes Room
Begins September 11

We are confronted daily with the fact that our culture is often out of sync with the truth of Scripture. Biblical norms are challenged daily, and social media has provided a platform for what once was considered to be fringe opposition to become mainstream. Civil discourse can become nasty, where more heat is generated than light. How do we as Christians engage with our culture without adding fuel to the fire?
Pastor Chip Ingram in his book entitled Culture Shock: A Biblical Response to Today's Most Divisive Issues, seeks to help us to do just that. He says, "More than ever before, believers must develop convictions based on research, reason, and biblical truth. But it doesn’t stop there. It’s equally important that you’re able, and willing to communicate these convictions with a love and respect that reflects God’s love."

Ephesians

Hosted by the Come and See Class
Taught by Dick Middlebrooks
Columbia Room

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ...I therefore...entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called. (Eph 1:3, 4:1)

Join us as we unwrap and realize the astonishing gift of each of these blessings described in the book of Ephesians and how they equip us, as the unified church, to live out God's eternal purposes.
