A Legacy Of Faith: A Link To The Past...A Bridge To The Future
We are excited to celebrate God’s faithfulness to our community as we recognize the 40th anniversary of Greater Portland Bible Church. In 1977, a small number of believers gathered together for the first time in a mortuary chapel to begin pursuing Jesus together as a faith community. Forty years later, we gather to remember and celebrate what God has accomplished through His church and to commit our trust to Him for our future.
10:30AM | 40th Anniversary Worship Gathering
Luis Palau, who played a significant role in our formation as a church, will be our keynote speaker for the morning service. This will be a Community Sunday where all ages will be in the auditorium for the celebration. No separate children or youth programming is available.
11:45AM | Box Lunch Meal
No celebration is complete without food! During lunch we’ll enjoy some connection time. Free box lunches are available. However, you must pre-register to reserve one. After you register, you’ll receive a voucher by email the week before the celebration that you may use to pick up your box lunch. For those without email, you can find your voucher in will-call at the welcome desk that day. Due to space limitations, registrations must be received by November 26.
12:45PM | Short Program
Join us for an hour long program where we’ll get to hear from Lynn Kent, our founding pastor, and several other former pastors and leaders share how God is using them in His Kingdom work. Children are also welcome at this presentation.
40th Anniversary Choir
Calling all singers, middle school and up! We’d love for you to be a part of the 40th Anniversary Choir! We’ll be singing on December 3 in the worship gathering that will celebrate GPBC’s 40th birthday. There are two rehearsals: Friday, December 1, 7-9pm, and Saturday, December 2, 10am-12pm. You must be able to make at least one full rehearsal to join us that Sunday. Both would be awesome. Interested? Just submit your information below and mark your calendar for at least one of the rehearsal times.
