We desire to provide opportunities for women to encourage and support one another toward personal, spiritual and relational wholeness.

Opportunities to Connect

The Balanced Life

Monday, August 9
Mt. Hood Room

Are you feeling stuck in your life?
Feeling like you have less and less energy?
Are you finding it hard to make nutritional food choices?
Looking for accountability and a balanced way of tackling life’s daily stresses?

Then our mini-workshop with Carrie Cole, a long-time GPBC member and fitness/nutrition coach working in the Middle East, is for you!

In this in-person workshop, Carrie will introduce us to the eight-week, online Balanced Life program she’s developed for us. The workshop will include:

  • Fitness: a gentle exercise routine.
  • Nutrition: a live demo of “How to Make a Super Shake” (and you’ll get to sample it too!)
  • Stress Management: how stress affects your health and strategies for finding balance.
  • 8-Week Program Overview & Sign-up: an explanation of the 8-week program which will be done online, with support by Carrie and begins Monday, August 16.

The eight-week course will include three videos a week, accessible online, which comprise a 20-30 minute fitness mini-workout, a 5-7 minute nutritional topic, and 3-5 minutes on managing stress. Weekly email communication is provided and accountability and support is built in to the course so that each woman can be encouraged to continue our journey to a healthy, balanced life.

All GPBC women, all ages and abilities, are welcome to join.

The in-person mini-workshop introductory session is free and does not require an RSVP.

The eight-week course is $10. All funds go to support the GPBC Global Partnership Budget. You can sign up for the full course on the app at the mini-workshop.

We hope to see you there!

Prayer Renewal

Special days of getting away from it all for special attention to prayer and connection to God are scheduled, normally annually. Stay tuned for the next prayer renewal event.

"To Retreat" means to leave our normally occupied positions and GO to a place of safety, quiet and seclusion. By going to a retreat, we physically remove ourselves from life's distractions, the demands of people in order to make space for God. Even Jesus recognized the value and need to get away. (Mark 1:35 "Very early in the morning Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place where He prayed.") The Women's Ministry Team provides  an occasional "Retreat" where women come to be refreshed, inspired, spend time with God and to each other.

Friday, October 8-Sunday, October 10
Aldersgate Retreat Center in Turner, OR

It is with great enthusiasm and joy we announce and invite you to the 2021 GPBC Women's Retreat. We hope you'll consider joining us this fall, Friday, October 8 through Sunday, October 10 at Aldersgate Retreat Center in Turner, OR.

Our theme this year is "ANCHORED" taken from Hebrews 6:19: "We have this hope as an anchor for our soul, firm and secure."
We will be joined again by the fabulous speaker, Jen Tompkins, Women’s Ministry Director at Morning Star Church, Salem, OR. Jen’s passion is to encourage women to love God more deeply by exploring His Word with passion and excitement, and maybe a little humor. She's also an Oregonian through and through, with a weakness for kettlecorn and coffee. Jen is married to Trent and mama to three ornery blessings: a sporty blonde son, a sassy redhead daughter, and a charming little Thai son who joined their family through adoption in 2012. Ministering to and with women has been a dream job for Jen, and she cherishes every opportunity to meet other sisters in Christ as they dig into Scripture together.
Each retreat session will discuss an aspect of our faith and the promises of God in which we choose to be anchored.
• Anchored in Hope (Hebrews 6 and Romans 5)
• Anchored in Wisdom (Proverbs and James 3)
• Anchored in Peace (Philippians 4)
We will also have other activities together such as hikes, games, crafts, worship, and other such awesomeness.

The cost per person is $150.00 which includes two night’s lodging (double occupancy), five meals (three on Saturday and two on Sunday).
We are going to have so much fun! Please register today on our website or on our app.

If you have any questions regarding the retreat, please contact Sheila Michaelson by email or 503-314-2918.
