Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted by Priscilla Shirer
Interruptions...they come in all sizes and shapes. All colors and shades. Good and bad. The world is dealing with a major interruption right now called COVID-19 that has changed the very ways we do our lives from simple grocery shopping to maintaining community and friendships. New interruptions and challenges can leave us feeling inadequate, outmatched and doubting God’s care.
Dive with us into this study of Jonah. He knows how life interrupted feels, and he's got a firsthand account of how yielding to God in life's interruptions is the best decision. You have the option of joining us in-person on Tuesday mornings (9:30-11:30am) at GPBC or in the evenings (6:30-8:30pm). (The location of the evening study is TBA.) The cost is $25 and you can register here.
(Our in-person meetings will practice all health recommendations for groups including social distancing and masks.)
Special days of getting away from it all for special attention to prayer and connection to God are scheduled, normally annually. Stay tuned for the next prayer renewal event.
"To Retreat" means to leave our normally occupied positions and GO to a place of safety, quiet and seclusion. By going to a retreat, we physically remove ourselves from life's distractions, the demands of people in order to make space for God. Even Jesus recognized the value and need to get away. (Mark 1:35 "Very early in the morning Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place where He prayed.") The Women's Ministry Team provides an occasional"Retreat" where women come to be refreshed, inspired, spend time with God and to each other.
The 2020 retreat has been cancelled.
