Love Our Church Days
Our 22 acre campus has many needs…if you enjoy outside landscape maintenance or inside repairs send us an email - . We have a flexible schedule and plenty of tools.
We also are scheduling days during the year for Love Our Church Days where many people come together to spruce things up.
Stay tuned for the next scheduled date!
Men of Service
Are you a man of action? Do you have the spiritual gift of helps? Join other men who lead through service, responding to the real needs of our church and body in practical and hands-on ways. John Muirhead has a team of guys he calls up when needs arise. When available, those guys join him for projects ranging from helping a family move to painting a classroom to a maintenance project or yard work. Typically, projects are scheduled on Saturday mornings, with only an occasional weekday evening. Text, call or John and let him know you’d like to sweat in service to the King of kings.
Our Babies Need You!
Do you have a heart for young children and babies? If so, our children ages 0-3 are eager to meet you! The GPBC nursery needs loving volunteers to walk alongside our youngsters on Sunday mornings. If you would like more information, please contact Sally Bland. We are excited to serve with you!
Preschool Help Needed
God is doing amazing things in our children’s ministry! Our preschool program is growing and we need volunteers. This is your opportunity to serve our young faith community and be a part of an amazing team!
If you would like to join the preschool team please contact Sally Bland by or 503.452.9375. We look forward to serving with you!
Are you good at lending a hand? Being a friendly face? We could really use a few more people like you to help usher on Sunday mornings. Ushers help people to their seats, receive the offering, pass out Bibles and occasionally communion, and answer questions. If you are interested, contact David Pelinka at . Scheduling is entirely up to your availability and frequency with which you desire to serve in this capacity.
Are you looking for a place to minister that makes a big difference? Volunteer to work once a month as a greeter at one of the entrances to our building on Sunday mornings. What is required? A smile. A warm word of welcome. A hand extended in friendship. Words and actions that communicate, “We are glad to have you here!” If you are interested, please contact Mindy Shumway or just find Mindy at the entrance to the auditorium on Sundays.
Are you friendly and like to meet attenders, whether new or returning? We have a small team of well-informed folks who do that at the Welcome/Info Desck in the GPBC foyer. We are adding to our team. We would like the teams to work in groups of two so that one person is able to escort new people to their destination as they are unfamiliar with the building while is other is able to maintain presence at the counter to help others. We also need substitutes. Contact Laurie Murphy or call 503.244.7924.
Those who respond to immediate needs such as a hospitalization are often taking a meal with them for the family. Our pastoral staff typically leaves the office to go directly to the hospital. We'd like to have meals ready to go in our church kitchen freezer. This would enable us to serve needs nearly instantly. If you are making an entree or a dessert for your freezer, think about making TWO! If you would like to help, but cooking just isn't your thing, you can always donate $$ for someone to shop for a meal, or pick up a prepared meal that can be easily frozen. NO donation is too small. Contact Leslie Hillman (503.281.4589).
Would you like to help out with the GPBC Library? Donna would love to connect with you! Send her an to find out more.
Ida B. Wells High School Outreach (formerly Wilson HS)
Please join our team of volunteers…come and paint a classroom or a hallway or work outside for the spring and fall grounds cleanup. We have fun working side by side with teachers, parents and kids. You don’t have to be an expert. We will hone your skills and it’s a great place to meet people. We normally work on a Saturday from 8:00am to noon. Email to be added to the email list of folks we contact when we have an upcoming work day.

Every week individuals come together using their talents and abilities to lead our congregation in worship of Jesus Christ. From musicians to vocalist and from sound boards to live streaming, there are plenty of ways to serve the body of Christ on the Worship and A/V Team. If you are interested in auditioning for the worship band or want to learn more about serving in the sound booth, you can reach out to Rebekah Middlebrooks, our Worship Director, at .
