The Doctrine of the Trinity:  A Liability or Legacy of the Church?

In our next series we will consider one of the critical theological beliefs that we hold as Christians that sets us apart uniquely from all other religions. That is the belief in the Triune God, that God has eternally existed as being one in essence, and three in persons.  We will seek to answer three key questions . . . Is the doctrine of the Trinity biblical? Does the doctrine make sense? And does the doctrine of the Trinity make any difference? In addition to these questions, we will also look at some of the key historical controversies in the early church that helped the church come to an orthodox understanding of what the Bible teaches versus what is in error. It is important that we know this, so that we do not unknowingly repeat the mistakes of the past. All other doctrines flow out of a correct understanding of this one. Get this one wrong and the ripple effect is devastating. Some Christians tend to shy away from talking about this with unbelievers, because we may think it is confusing and therefore a liability to sharing the gospel with our friends. But apologist Francis Schaeffer said it was this doctrine that convinced him that Christianity was right! Come join us on this journey together, as we search out what God has revealed about Himself.

Join us Sundays at 9:15am.
