I hope your family is doing well! Before we dive into the Big God Story, I want to remind you to reserve your spot at the GPBC Pumpkin Patch family event on Saturday, October 2nd from 2-4 PM! We will have smores by the campfire, games, and snacks available! Please RSVP HERE to help us plan for this fun event. Everything is free except for the Corn Maze tickets (which are optional); you can purchase them for a reduced price ($5 each) when you reserve your spot. We hope to see you there!
This week in Children’s Ministry we will be in 1 Kings 11-12 learning what happens when King Solomon allows sin to enter into Israel. If you are unable to attend in-person service, you can find the video lesson online anytime on our Kids and Families Resource Page, on our Greater Portland Bible Church App or on Sunday morning at 8 AM on the GP Kids Facebook Group page.
Christ Connection this Sunday: King Solomon failed to lead God’s people perfectly. God’s people needed a better king, a perfect king! Through David’s family, God would send His own Son, Jesus Christ, to be a perfect King over God’s people forever. Jesus is greater than Solomon. Jesus brings His people together and leads them back to God.
I hope your family is able to attend the baptisms after church tomorrow on the front lawn. We have several kids in our community who have decided to give their hearts to Jesus and we want to celebrate together! I look forward to seeing you there!
