We know families are busy getting ready for a new (distance learning) school year and we all need a little break! Instead of a traditional Bible lesson, this week we will play an fun game of ZONK! Your kids can test their Bible knowledge as they answer 10 questions about God! You can find the video on the GPBC Instagram and Facebook pages at 9 AM on Sunday morning, or you can view it anytime on our website: Kids and Families Resource Page.

Starting next week (September 13th) we are excited to offer in-person Sunday school for kids ages birth through 5th grade at 11 AM! While we hope you are able to attend in-person services, we will be continuing to post online children’s lessons for any family who decides to stay at home. If you are able to attend, we want you to know that your family’s health is important to us. We are taking the following safety precautions to help protect our community during the ongoing pandemic as we gather together:

  • All volunteers and children who are 5 years or older are required to wear a mask. Children younger than 5 years-old can wear masks if they would like to, but it is not required.
  • All Children’s Ministry programs will be upstairs or outside. We are not permitted to go downstairs unless there is an emergency. This allows us to have 50 people downstairs during worship service, and 50 people upstairs in Children’s Ministry!
  • Parents and kids must use the upstairs entrance to check-in and pick-up for Children’s programs. Parents must then walk outside to the front entrance to check-in for church.
  • Every child and volunteer must check-in and have their temperatures checked before entering the classroom (anyone with a temperature over 100.5⁰F will not be able to enter).
  • Children and volunteers will be encouraged to maintain physical distancing during Sunday services. We understand this may not always be possible in Children’s Ministry especially with young children.
  • Class sizes will be based on the size of the room to allow for physical distancing. Elementary (max 20) will be in the Mt. Hood/St. Helens (Big God Story) The Preschool/Nursery (max 8) will be down the hall in the Mt. Tabor room.
  • Tables and supplies will be set up in the Elementary and Preschool rooms so each child has their own space to work without having to share pens/crayons/etc.
  • Individually packaged snacks will be given to the children. All volunteers and students will need to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer, prior to handing out snacks.

We have missed you and are excited to start another year growing closer to Jesus with you and your family! l pray God will continue to keep your family healthy and safe as we come together to worship Him! You will be receiving more information from the church on Sunday regarding how to register for services next week. Please let me know if you have any questions. See you soon!!!!

God Bless,
Sally Bland
