Can you believe it’s October?! I love fall and the beauty it brings, and I am especially excited to celebrate it together! This year our church is taking a family trip to the Pumpkin Patch for fun and fellowship! GPBC has reserved Picnic Area 2 at The Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island on October 17th from 2-4 PM. We were able to secure a discount on Corn Maize tickets ($4 each) if purchased prior to October 17th. Please sign up for your tickets HERE (Maize tickets cost $8 adult/$6 child if not reserved ahead of time – kids 5 and under are free.) There are other family activities at The Pumpkin Patch including a pumpkin patch, hay ride, and petting zoo so come on down and fellowship with us!

This week in Children’s Ministry we will learn how God rescues us just like He rescued Noah and his family in Genesis 6-9. If you are unable to attend in-person service this week, you can find the video lesson online anytime on our Kids and Families Resource Page or on Sunday morning on the GPBC's Facebook and Instagram pages at 9 AM.

God rescued Noah and his family from the flood. The story of Noah points ahead to a greater rescue, God’s Son, Jesus – the only perfectly righteous One—came to take the punishment for our sin. By trusting in Him, we are saved from the punishment our sin deserves! This week as you focus on what it means to be rescued from sin, I challenge you to discuss as a family, how knowing you have been forgiven helps you forgive others.

Just a reminder, your kids are invited to participate in Art Club on Tuesdays from 3-4:30 PM and Homework Club on Wednesdays from 4:30-6 PM. Last week we had several kids from the neighborhood attend Homework Club, which gave us opportunities to build community with our neighbors through tutoring, games, and social interaction, it was amazing! We hope your family is able to be part of what God is doing through these programs!

l pray God will help your family see how He has rescued them from sin and from this world, and that knowledge will free you from fear of the unknown! I look forward to seeing you at church on Sunday, at Art Club on Tuesday, at Homework Club on Wednesday, and at The Pumpkin Patch on October 17th (praise God for giving us so many opportunities to fellowship in October)!!

God Bless,
Sally Bland
