Weekly Parent Email (1/1/21)

Happy New Year! I loved hanging out and celebrating the new year with all of you who attended Winter Fest last night! It’s always a huge blessing to be together and spread joy! As we look to 2021, I pray God brings an end to the COVID-19 pandemic and brings peace to our nation!

This week in Children’s Ministry we will be looking at Genesis 42-46 and 50 as we see how God saved Joseph’s family by putting Joseph into a position of authority in Egypt. If you are unable to attend in-person service, you can find the video lesson online anytime on our Kids and Families Resource Page, on our Greater Portland Bible Church App or on Sunday morning at 8 AM on the GP Kids Facebook Group page. You can find fun activity pages attached to this email for your kids to engage with the Big God Story.

God had a plan for Joseph’s life. He allowed Joseph to suffer to rescue a whole nation, and then brought Joseph into power in a foreign land. In a greater way, God planned for Jesus to suffer so that many people from all nations would be saved from sin. Praise the Lord for His amazing love that He would be willing to sacrifice His Son so we could be forgiven! I pray God gives us discernment as we face many challenges in our lives so we can see how He is working in all things for our good!

I wanted to let you know that we are continuing to postpone Homework Club until Multnomah County is no longer in the Extreme Risk level. We will keep you posted on any updates. Until then, please continue to pray for the Habitat for Humanity families as we are still working with them one-on-one.

I look forward to seeing you soon as we learn more about Jesus together in 2021!

God Bless,
Sally Bland
