Weekly Parent Email (3/19/21)

Posted by Sally Bland on

Next week is Spring Break….and Palm Sunday! A part of our Easter celebration, we will be building Resurrection Gardens in Children’s Ministry on Palm Sunday to remember what Jesus has done for us! If your family will not be at church on Palm Sunday, please let me know so I can bring the instructions and supplies to your home so your family can participate too!

Now, back to this week. Tomorrow in Children’s Ministry we will explore how God is holy and requires a sacrifice for sin as we look into Leviticus (Rules for Sacrifice). If you are unable to attend in-person service, you can find the video lesson online anytime on our Kids and Families Resource Page, on our Greater Portland Bible Church App or on Sunday morning at 8 AM on the GP Kids Facebook Group page. You can also find fun activity pages attached to this email for your kids to engage with the Big God Story.

Christ Connection this Sunday: The sacrifices God required of His people were a hint of what God was going to do to forgive sinners. We no longer need to offer sacrifices because we trust in Jesus. Jesus offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice that takes away our sin once and for all.

Just as a reminder, we have the following fun family activities coming up, be sure to add them to your calendar:

  • Easter Egg Hunt at Stephen’s Creek on Saturday, March 27th at 2PM: We are looking for families to serve at this fun outreach event for our neighbors at Stephen’s Creek Crossing! We are sponsoring an egg hunt to bring joy to families and invite them to join us for Easter service. Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering!
  • Vacation Bible School: We are very excited to offer an in-person VBS this summer, July 5th – 9th from 6-8 PM! VBS is for kids ages 4 years old through 5th The VBS is only open to GPBC families as well as families living at Stephen’s Creek apartments. The cost of the VBS is $10 per child, I will send out a registration link soon!

I pray that as your family have a great Spring Break! I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

God Bless,
Sally Bland
