This Sunday, August 29th, is GET OUT and SERVE Community Sunday!!!

"For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power." 1 Corinthians 2:2-5

At GPBC, we want a “demonstration of the Spirit’s power” to come from inside the walls of our faith family home and OUT into the neighborhoods, parks, businesses, homes, communities, city of Portland and world all around us! We want to help people follow JESUS together!!!

One of the primary ways we invite “a demonstration of the Spirit’s power” is through prayer. PRAYER IS KINGDOM MISSION SERVICE! As we pray, we go with the Holy Spirit and we get the Holy Spirit out ahead of us so that we know that all faith that comes “does not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.”

This Community Sunday, we are going to GET OUT and SERVE together, working side by side and using Prayer as our Kingdom Tool!

We will begin our service in the auditorium and then everyone will have an opportunity to Get Out and Serve by choosing one of the below service teams, each of which will have designated prayer times, Bible verses that engage our children and families, and opportunities for community connections. We will serve for about 45-50 minutes. We will then regroup in the auditorium for a short wrap up time and then take our picnic lunches out to the lawn. Please consider bringing some extra for any visitors that may join us.
And if you are out of town this week or joining us from home, there is a Prayer Walk Template for you to use wherever you are!!

Let’s PRAY now for “a demonstration of the Spirit’s power” in and with us on Sunday, so we may see faith that rests on the power of God grow in us and out from us into our neighbors, into Portland and into this whole world for Jesus’ Glory!

Your Community Sunday Team
